2026 "A" Team Tryouts

Travel Teams

Travel teams have an extra team fee cost, travel to 4-5 tournaments including provincial and have an extended season that leads into mid to late July (and possibly August). 

Please do not select tryout if your player is unable to commit to traveling to tournaments inside and outside Saskatchewan and not commit to playing softball in July.

Tryout Prep - Open Gym Throwing Sessions ($10 per session)

Players are encouraged (but not required) to attend these sessions to get their arms ready for February tryouts.

Location: NationsWest Fieldhouse (Turf)
Cost: $10 per session (cash at the beginning of each session)

Dates:

• January 11

Times:

• U11 / U13: 7:00-8:30 PM

• U15 / U17: 8:30-10:00 PM

• January 18

Times:

• U11 / U13: 6:00-8:00 PM

• U15 / U17: 8:00-10:00 PM

These sessions are open to any players interested in preparing for A tryouts and the age group coaches will be on hand to help organize.

Official Tryout Dates ($20 to register)

You only need to attend one tryout date, but players are welcome to attend both.

February 1

• U11: 6:00-8:00 PM

• U13: 8:00-10:00 PM

• U15: 6:00-8:00 PM

• U17: 8:00-10:00 PM

February 22

• U11: 6:00-8:00 PM

• U13: 8:00-10:00 PM

February 24

• U15: 6:00-8:00 PM

• U17: 8:00-10:00 PM

What to Bring

All players trying out must bring:

• Indoor shoes

• Water bottle

• Glove

• Batting helmet

• Bat

Registration & Cost

• Tryout fee: $20 (paid at registration)

• Please arrive at least 20 minutes early to complete registration.

Players From Outside the Battlefords Area

Any player from another association must obtain a release from their home association to try out. Please contact your association president to request this release.

• Any B Centre will issue a release to allow a player to try out for an A team in another association.

• If a player is unsuccessful in making the A team, they must return to their home association.

• BMSA will NOT be issuing releases for players to play A ball outside our district

Unable to Attend?

If you are unable to attend the scheduled tryout dates, you may contact the appropriate age group A coach to request an alternate date. Please note that alternate tryouts are not guaranteed.
